Pathologist

A. Provides effective leadership of the "medical-laboratory service.
B. Relate and function effectively with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies, appropriate administrative officials of the healthcare community, and the patient population served, and providers of formal agreements when required;
C. Ensure that there are appropriate numbers of staff with the required education, training and competence;
D. Ensure that the quality policy, a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice and applicable requirements is implemented;
E. Serve as a contributing member of the medical staff for those facilities served, if applicable
F. Ensure the provision of clinical advice with respect to the choice of examinations, use of service and interpretation of examination results;
G. To provide professional Development programs for laboratory staff and opportunities to participate in scientific and other activities of professional laboratory organization.
H. Defines, implement and monitor standards of performance and quality improvement of the medical laboratory service or services
I. To participate in the management review meetings.
J. Finalize role, responsibility & authority of key members of the laboratory.
K. Supervise the working of the entire laboratory.
L. Overall responsibility includes Finance Accounts.
M. Ensures smooth functioning of all departments.
N. Ensure implementation of Quality Management Systems aligned to applicable quality standard guidelines.
O. Signing authority for Cl. Biochemistry, Infectious disease serology, Hematology, Cl. Pathology
