Senior Resident Pathology

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnostic Responsibilities:
   
• Examine tissue samples, biopsies, and other specimens to provide accurate diagnoses.
• Interpret laboratory results, including blood, urine, and other tests, to aid in patient care.
• Prepare and review pathology reports, ensuring detailed, clear, and accurate documentation.
• Conduct autopsies and provide insights into causes of death, when necessary.
2. Collaboration & Consultation:
   
• Work closely with medical teams (doctors, surgeons, and specialists) to provide diagnostic insights and recommendations for patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering expertise on pathology and diagnostic information.
3. Laboratory Management:
   
• Oversee laboratory procedures, ensuring that quality standards and regulations are met.
• Ensure that lab results are processed promptly and accurately, and maintain up-to-date medical records.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and best practices in pathology.
4. Research & Education:
   
• Stay current with the latest developments in pathology, medical research, and diagnostic technologies.
• If applicable, engage in research activities to advance medical knowledge and improve diagnostic practices.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, technicians, and students.
5. Quality Assurance:
   
• Implement and maintain quality control measures for pathology processes.
• Participate in audits and ensure that the pathology department adheres to the highest standards of practice.
