Sr. Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities

1. Backend Development
• Design, implement, and maintain APIs and microservices to support core functionalities such as ingestion, querying, and data processing.
• Develop secure and scalable backend systems that align with the overall system architecture.
• Collaborate with the frontend team to ensure seamless integration and performance.
2. Database Management
• Optimize and manage database schemas and interactions for high performance.
• Work with relational databases like PostgreSQL, NoSql databases like MongoDB, search technologies like Elasticsearch.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements as needed.
3. Security and Performance
• Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., RBAC/ABAC).
• Apply encryption and secure data transmission techniques to protect sensitive information.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization for low-latency and high-throughput systems.

4. Testing and Maintenance

• Write unit tests, integration tests, and conduct debugging to ensure reliability.
• Document backend services and workflows to ensure maintainability and scalability.
• Monitor live systems and address issues promptly.

Required Skills and Experience

• Technical Expertise:
• Proficiency in backend development using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and search technologies (Elasticsearch).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Security:
• Hands-on experience with secure coding practices, encryption, and authentication frameworks (e.g., OAuth2, JWT).
• Familiarity with implementing role-based and attribute-based access control systems.
• Performance Optimization:
• Proven ability to design and optimize systems for high performance and low latency.
• Experience with monitoring and debugging backend services.
