Job Description

Job Summary:

- We seek a seasoned Senior Equity Analyst to lead high-impact equity research, portfolio strategy, and investment decision-making.

- You will analyze global markets, mentor junior analysts, and shape Stack's investment philosophy.

- This role demands a rare combination of technical rigor, strategic foresight, and leadership to drive alpha generation and client success in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Equity Research & Analysis:

- Conduct deep-dive fundamental analysis of companies across sectors, evaluating financial statements, competitive positioning, and industry trends to identify high-conviction opportunities.

- Build complex financial models (DCF, LBO, merger scenarios, 3-statement forecasting) to assess intrinsic value and growth potential.

Portfolio Strategy & Risk Management:

- Collaborate with portfolio managers to design and optimize equity portfolios, balancing risk-return objectives and factor-based strategies.

- Conduct performance attribution analysis to evaluate portfolio deviations from benchmarks and refine investment theses.

Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership:

- Monitor global macroeconomic trends, geopolitical shifts, and sector-specific catalysts to inform tactical asset allocation.

- Publish actionable research reports and market commentaries for internal teams and clients.

Valuation & Investment Recommendations:

- Perform robust valuation analyses (relative, intrinsic, scenario-based) and stress-test assumptions under varying market conditions.

- Present actionable buy/sell/hold recommendations to senior leadership and clients, backed by data-driven insights.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

- Train junior analysts in financial modeling, research methodologies, and compliance with global best practices.

- Spearhead the development of proprietary analytical tools or quantitative models to enhance research efficiency.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Articulate complex investment strategies to clients and stakeholders through clear, compelling presentations.

- Collaborate with product teams to translate research insights into scalable, tech-driven solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements:


Education: Bachelor's/Master's in Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields.

MBA/CFA/FRM preferred.

Certifications:

Mandatory: CFA Level 3 (charterholders preferred).

Bonus: Certifications in financial engineering, quantitative finance, or programming (Python/R).

Experience:

- 5-8 years in equity research, portfolio management, or investment banking, with exposure to global markets.

- Proven track record of driving alpha through stock-picking or portfolio construction.

- Experience mentoring teams and leading cross-functional projects.

Technical Skills:

- Mastery of Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, and financial modeling tools.

- Proficiency in Python, R, or VBA for quantitative analysis and automation.

- Advanced Excel skills (scenario analysis, macros, data visualization).

Strategic Competencies:

- Deep understanding of factor investing, macroeconomic drivers, and multi-asset class dynamics.

- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable, client-ready insights.

- Entrepreneurial mindset to innovate within a startup environment.
