There has been an increase in the understanding of various ILDs and differentiating these into specific groups is essential for better management
It is important to study the risk factors, pathogenesis, treatment and outcomes of various ILDs
With differences in the genetic profile, environmental factors, occupational exposures, smoking habits, socio-cultural and farming practices in developing countries, the spectrum of ILDs may be different from other regions of the world
There is an unmet need for studies on the epidemiology of ILDs from the developing world
Only two cross sectional studies from India with a reasonable sample size have been reported
A large multicentre registry from India reported hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) as the most prevalent ILD, contrary to the data from tertiary care centre in north India which reported sarcoidosis as the most common ILD
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Thorough knowledge of the study protocol
- Performing study related pulmonary function tests
- Helping the SRF with data entry into CRF/eCRF and maintain a record of radiological investigations and other functional assessment data
- Scheduling follow-up visits, telephonic reminders for patients to follow up and data collection during follow up :
