Manger - Finance & Accounts

Role & responsibilities

Strategy & Planning :

• Liaise with the BOD to formulate financial strategy and articulate the financial plans for the region in line with financial strategy for Spica.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement within the region by studying the market and economic trends
• Create roadmaps for various financial initiatives and ensure effective implementation of the same.

Financial Operations:

• All financial and legal compliances pertaining to finance are adhered to
• Prepare the annual budget for the region in consultation with BOD. Ensure adherence to the same
• Critically examine the budget estimates of different departments in the region for correctness, accuracy and completeness; and conformance to established procedures, regulations and business objectives
• Provide financial advice to the function heads (within the region) to undertake proper financial planning and decision making
• Provide BOD with on-going forecasts of operating revenues and expenses for the region
• Undertake review and analysis of various financial statements (Balance sheet and income statement) on a periodic basis to identify anomalies, if any

Accounting

• Assume overall responsibility for activities pertaining to accounting for the region. Monitor accounting for all plants (within the region) including general ledger, general accounting, accounts payables, accounts receivables, reconciliations etc. and ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts as per rules and regulations
• Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and maintain accurate records and control reports. Coordinate with Key Account Management team from time to time on collection schedule and status

Taxation

• Stay updated with latest tax notifications for the region, interpret & analyse the impact of the same on business; Ensure tax benefits remain optimized within the existing frameworks in case of new developments. Ensure that systems and processes are implemented/ amended to meet the new tax requirements for the region
• Ensure all tax compliances and representations are done in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that taxes are processed in a timely manner and ensure accurate payment of taxes along with requisite documentation
• Ensure timely response and action to all queries by tax authorities from time to time and ensuring timely submission

Audit and Compliance

• Ensure data required for various audits are collated in specified formats; coordinate and support audits to ensure completion within prescribed timelines. Oversee implementation of audit related recommendations
• Ensure compliance to relevant statutory requirements and applicable accounting Standards. Audits given below are completed in time and provide necessary details, statements etc. to auditors for their auditing purpose and provide management comments to auditors where required Annual Statutory Audit of Balance Sheet, GST Audit, Tax Audit, Details for Cost Audit, Excise Audit.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, monthly / quarterly / annual budgets and reports for the region as required by BOD
• Determine the revenue, profits, and losses incurred by the region; Analyse the cost centres, determine and implement different ways of reducing costs
• Provide timely inputs for management reporting in the form of detailed analysis of financial performance.

Preferred candidate profile

• MBA Finance / or relevent degree with minumin 10 to 15 years expereince in Finance & Accounts.
• Must have worked in manufacturing company
• Textile industry candidtee will be given preference.
