Job Summary:

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the organizations decision-making processes by providing in-depth analysis and interpretation of sales, payment, and purchase data. The role requires advanced proficiency in Excel for creating complex reports and MIS dashboards. The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced Excel Reporting:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex Excel models and dashboards for various business functions.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros, Power Query, Power Pivot) to analyze large datasets and generate actionable insights.
• Automate repetitive tasks in Excel to improve efficiency in data processing and reporting.
• MIS Reporting and Process Optimization:
• Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports that track performance.
• Consolidate data from various sources to create comprehensive reports for management review.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all MIS reports, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
• Sales & Payment Analysis:
• Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Monitor payment collections, track outstanding receivables, and generate reports on payment status.
• Provide insights into sales performance, including regional, product-wise, and channel-wise analysis.
• Interpretation of MIS Data:
• Interpret and present MIS data to senior management, providing clear and concise explanations of trends, anomalies, and potential risks.
• Collaborate with department heads to understand their data needs and tailor reports to meet specific business objectives.
• Offer recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Complex Purchase Analysis:
• Conduct detailed analysis of purchase data, including vendor performance, pricing trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Create reports that highlight areas of inefficiency or potential cost reductions in the procurement process.
• Support the procurement team with data-driven insights to negotiate better terms with suppliers.
• Account Sales Reports:
• Prepare account-specific sales reports that track performance against targets and historical data.
• Analyze account-level data to identify trends, opportunities for cross-selling/up-selling, and customer retention strategies.
• Work closely with the sales team to provide data support for account management activities.
• Project Management
• Lead or particiupate in MIS related projects, including system upgrades and new implementations.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and budget.
• Data Accuracy and Integrity:
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all data used for reporting and analysis.
• Regularly audit data sources and processes to identify and rectify any inconsistencies or errors.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, methodologies, and reporting processes.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 2-5 years of experience in data analysis, MIS reporting, IT support or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory, ERP systems and other relevant software is an added advantage.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work with large datasets and transform data into actionable insights.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience with ERP systems and databases (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
• Certifications:
• Any relevant certifications in data analysis, Excel, or data visualization (preferred but not required).
