Summary of Functions
- Responsible for Precision Engineering Division - Business Vertical
- Overall responsibility and overseeing all the activities of the BV; Profit & Loss of the BV; Order Book, Profitability and Sustainability; Business Development; Design and Development of Products; Supply Chain Management; Quality System and Processes; Customer Relationship Management and Customer Satisfaction; Cost Control; Delivery of Products and Services; Managing BV Teams; Best Practices and Improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- BE-Mechanical (mandatory) with 15-25 years of experience
- Experience in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Engineering and related areas.
- Knowledge of Precision Manufacturing, Process Planning, Methods, CNC Machining, Precision Assembly, Measuring and Inspection/Testing for Aerospace Applications
- Techno commercial Experience in Costing, RFQs- Technical and Commercial Bids
- Exposure to CATIA, Pro-E, Solid works, (Mandatory) & FEM, FEA, CFD Software Tools (Preferable)
- Market Knowledge of Aerospace Globally and Indian Organizations including HAL, ISRO, and others.
- Global Experience in Delivering High-Value Assemblies and Components to Aerospace Majors
- Industries in Tier-1 / OEM/Medium Scale Organization/MSMEs
- Proven P&L Track Record and Technical Expertise in Mechanical / Manufacturing area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Business Development - Responsible for Business Development, New Customer Acquisition, Costing and RFQ Management, Win-Loss Analysis
- Design and Development Oversee Design and Development, Methods, Estimation, First-off Parts, Prototyping and Testing, Business Case, Should Costing and Profitability, Meet or exceed Customer Requirements (Where required for PED)
- Project Management – Oversee Project Management of New Projects, Meet Time, Cost and Quality Parameters
- Supply Chain Management – Oversee Supplier Selection and Qualification, Supply Chain Costs, Delivery and Quality Ratings of Suppliers, New Developments, Supply Chain Improvement Projects
- Quality – Oversee Quality Systems adherence to AS9100, EMS, OHS, ISMS as appropriate, Incoming Quality, In Process and Final Inspection, reduction of rework and rejections, continuous improvement, 5S, Implementation of best practices, Customer Complaints and Closure.
- Human Resources – Identify Recruitment needs, Onboarding of new joiners, Job Description and KPIs, Performance Management, Training and Career Development, Skill Development and Skill Matrix, Motivate Workforce and Workforce retention
- Infrastructure – Propose New or Improvements in Plant & Machinery and Infrastructure, Oversee Capacity Utilization, Protection and Maintenance of Company Assets, Prepare Business case for all new projects
- Safety – Compliance to Safety Guidelines, OHS Policies and Implementation.
- Legal, Statutory and Regulatory – Ensure Compliance to Legal, Statutory and Regulatory requirements for the BV
- Policies and Guidelines – Ensure compliance to Company Policies and Guidelines across the BV.
- Ethical and Social Responsibility – Ensure Compliance to Ethical and Societal expectation of all stakeholders.
Additional Responsibility for BV Heads and Functional Heads
- Participate in Internal Audits, Management Review Meetings and address Improvements and Non-Conformances
- Identify Risks, Sustainability considerations, Risk Mitigation.
- Prepare Long-Term and Short-Term Strategy, SWOT Analysis based on Key Business Factors, annually
