Job Description

Role & responsibilities


Locations Handled: Any two zones entirely


The National Sales Manager typically will be responsible for the sales operations across the nation through a well-established dealer network. He will also be responsible for expanding the dealer network, establishing the brand, increase market share, ensuring profitability, and growth. His responsibilities will also include but not limited to the following:


1. Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets and market share objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and competition to identify growth opportunities.
  • Strategically appoint new dealers in target locations enabling full coverage of market.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Build a team of Regional managers who will be working under him.
  • Monitor team performance and provide the required coaching and support to meet goals.
  • Lead the dealer team effectively and derive consistent performance from them month after month.

3. Customer and Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with major clients, institutions and industry bodies.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Provide market feedback on product, competition and industry trends on a timely basis to the factory team and make necessary changes to suit to the market needs.

4. Sales Operations:

  • Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and reporting standards.
  • Ensure collection/cash flow as per company norms

5. Product Expertise:

  • Work closely with the product development and marketing teams to align sales efforts with new construction equipment launches.
  • Offer technical and sales support to team members and customers as needed.

6. Performance Metrics:

  • Track sales KPIs, evaluate team and regional performance, and adjust strategies accordingly.

7. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with teams to ensure after-sales support.

8. Marketing Activities

  • Actively participate in all relevant exhibitions organised in the industry and showcase the product to the targeted segments.
  • Conduct periodic market development activities along with the dealer to ensure the product is established as a strong brand across the country.


Preferred candidate profile

  • Proven experience in FMCG sector
  • Bachelors degree in engineering with an MBA would be given preference
  • 15-20 years of proven experience in FMCG sales, sales & marketing, team leadership etc.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation & interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication, proficiency in sales forecasting tools with a go-getter attitude
