Job Description
Keeping abreast of the changes in compliances and tax laws, this position will be responsible for the accounting and operations team to implement the changes as well as work closely with the International team in the Canadian corporate office. The candidate needs to be a problem solver and have an aptitude for systems, with a proven track record of leveraging technology resulting in reduction of time and human efforts. A bachelor s degree with 5 to 7 years of professional work experience is preferred. Master or Professional degree with an in-depth and expert understanding of accounting concepts and taxation. Advanced excel skills. Experience in Accounts Payable, Direct and Indirect Taxes permitting good interpretation of tax laws. Proven ability to embrace new technologies. Systems & process savvy with experience in relevant software & financial reporting systems. Advance to Expert user of: Microsoft Office Applications. (EXCEL, WORD, etc.) Strong organizational & communication skills and possess a teamwork mentality.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
General:
- Maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in all areas of work and help Finance & Operations team with day to day problem solving.
- Coordination with Consultants, Tax Authorities and International Teams to keep everyone updated on the development and handling statutory and tax audits.
- Review existing processes, take suggestions from the team and identify areas of process improvements to implement changes and participate in ad-hoc projects as requested.
- Monitoring and updating all stakeholders about any notices, demands or orders received from tax authorities.
- Develop ability to be ready for supporting offices outside India when required.
- Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
- Finalization and payment of Advance Tax and TDS under various sections.
- Ensuring correct TDS deduction and accounting thereof.
- Review and filing of all TDS returns, including rectifications, if any.
- Check on Income Tax website regularly for notices if any and ensure responses are submitted timely.
- Income Tax & TDS Return Filing as well as filing Rectification of TDS, Online correction of TDS.
- Monthly TDS Deposit.
- Prepare/Generate Certificates like Form 16A/16, etc.
- Vat C-form, Vat D-1, D-3, C Form Issued to parties
- Ensure proper documentation for GST compliance like invoices for reverse charge, inter-office invoices, waybills, advance receipts etc. as required.
- Ensure input credit is availed only on eligible invoices of vendors.
- Ensure finalization and payment of GST.
- Review and ensure filing of Indirect Tax returns whether monthly, quarterly or annually.
- Timely application of refunds etc.
- Preparation and obtaining LUT from GST authorities and other updates to be maintained.
- Handling of queries from the department.
- You will be computing tax liability and file monthly returns (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B) under GST law for Companies.
- Should have been a part of GST impact assessment & implementation team when the GST law came into force. Handling the direct tax assessment cases and liaoning with the tax consultants for on business.
Employee Payroll and related Compliances:
- Uploading monthly payroll inputs, processing payments towards deductions from salary.
- Accounting saving and verifying the details with the income tax calculations, verifying forms.
- Preparing monthly PF and ESI details of regular, preparing ESI half yearly returns.
- Making sure accounting for Provident Fund and ESI is accurate.
- Building process to ensure compliance of expense bookings with Internal Approvals, Budgets and taxation before payout.
- Monthly close of Accounting modules, ensuring monthly Subledger to General Ledger reconciliation.
- Voucher Entry-Bank, Debit/Credit Note, TDS Deduction, Sales Tax, Service Tax, Journal Entries.
- Day to day entries of Purchase bills, Sales Invoice, Expenses voucher and voucher preparation etc.
- Responsible for Bank Reconciliation (BRS), scrutiny of Ledger & releasing payments.
- Maintenance of books of accounts in Quickbooks Online.
- Responsible for the development of financial strategy, budgets and report accurate financial results.
- Visiting the banks and regulatory agencies when required.
- Visiting branch office for necessary registration tasks and getting it done.
- Coordination with Sales Tax Consultants for Vat Returns/ I issue of forms / Annual assessment.
- Coordination with CA for Annual Audit up to completion of audit.
- Liaison with Government Departments and ensure compliance.
