Head EHS

Role & responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and compliance programs.

• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations (GMP, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits regularly.

• Implement emergency response plans and ensure proper training for employees.

• Lead EHS audits and inspections to ensure workplace safety and environmental sustainability.

• Monitor waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.

• Develop training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, PPE usage, and best practices.

• Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).

• Ensure compliance with fire safety, chemical handling, hazardous material storage, and occupational health standards.

• Collaborate with government authorities (PCB, OSHA, FDA) and regulatory agencies for reporting and compliance.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for a safer and more sustainable workplace.

Preferred candidate profile

• Educational Qualification: Bachelors / Masters degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Chemical Engineer, or related field.

• Experience: 10+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in the manufacturing industry ( Pharma & Chemicals)

• In-depth knowledge of GMP, OSHA, ISO standards, pollution control, hazardous waste management, and fire safety regulations, & Compliance related to EHS.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in EHS audits, training programs, and risk assessment methodologies.
