Software Test Engineer

Job Description

Core activities to be performed as follows:
Be part of kick-off, understanding the delivery expectations and aligning on requirements
Proficient in working on Agile-SCRUM or Incremental/Iterative approaches
Review Product/Project requirement artifacts in close collaboration with PO, SM and Implementation Specialists to understand features and there by obtain clarity on unknown s How Toaspects from testing
Be part of Approach Definition, help lead in providing needed details and alignment with Business Tech Stakeholders and agreeing on functional and NFR requirements towards implementation
In case of change, assess the impact get needed clarity towards implementation
Provide effort estimate with break-ups with respect to testing
Involvement/Contribution towards preparing testing artifacts such as Test Approach Definition, Alignment to Definition of Done/Ready, Risk Assessment, Communication arriving Mitigation Plans (if any), Test Case Preparation, Test Case Execution, Defect Reporting, Preparing Release Level Dashboards
Familiar and be confident in preparing SQL queries for the requirements that involve Simple, Complex queries with Joins; Should be independent contributor and self-manage data flow activities based on requirements
As a Quality Engineer, understand the technical stack and technology powering the applications
Conversant in handling Manual and Exploratory testing as a pre-requisite
Should hold good foundational knowledge in test automation and leverage for time-sensitive delivery note, repetitive regression releases
Develop and execute automated UI tests for regression testing

Must Have:
Interact with product management, project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
Proven ability to work as an independent tester in a collaborative, trusted fast-paced environment with excellent debugging skills
Experience working in agile product/project teams (Scrum and Kanban)
Passion, Assertive and Out-of-Box thinking to learn/explore hidden requirements/unknown s (e.g) keep hands dirty
Good questioning or learning mindset - explore the unknown s
Experience in Web Application Testing leveraging CMS framework (Sitecore, Drupal, WordPress, SharePoint) and proficient in conducting end-to-end testing on lift shift content modules
3 to 5 years of experience (Graduate in Engineering/Post Graduate in Engg/Science) in the following areas
End-to-End testing involving UI/UX, Functional, API, Content Module testing, Integrations Database workstreams with fair understanding on SQL queries
Conversant in testing responsive design (i.e.) testing on mobile devices familiarized in BrowserStack, Saucelabs or pCloudy etc..
Good experience in testcase definition, execution, conducting impact analysis and debugging
Proficiency in Agile/Kanban way of working enforcing collaboration as key theme
JIRA, Selenium, TFS/Testlink, Git/SVN
Programming experience in atleast one of the following languages Java, Python

Good to have:

Web Application/Portal Testing on CMS/Custom Platforms with Test Automation Skills
