About Position

Deevita is looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Developer to design, develop, and optimize database solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PostgreSQL, database performance tuning, and writing complex queries, functions, and stored procedures. You will collaborate with application developers and DevOps teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our databases.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Write efficient SQL queries, functions, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
• Implement data security, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, constraints, and relationships.
• Collaborate with backend developers to optimize database interactions.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Work with DevOps teams to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Create and maintain database documentation.
• Support data migration, ETL processes, and integration with other systems.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL (9.x, 10.x, 11.x, or later).
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database programming.
• Experience with database optimization techniques (indexing, query tuning, partitioning).
• Understanding of ACID principles, transactions, and concurrency control.
• Knowledge of database security, role management, and access control.
• Familiarity with replication, clustering, and failover strategies.
• Experience with database monitoring tools (pgAdmin, pg_stat_statements, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with ETL, data warehousing, or data pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4-7 years experience with Postgresql, React JS, cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields. (BE/B.Tech/ M.E / M.Tech, MCA)
• Must have excellent communication skills (English) to interface with US clients directly and verify in proficiency in all types of communication modes – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking  
• 5+ years of experience in PostgreSQL development and administration.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, triggers, functions, and views.
• Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Knowledge of database replication, partitioning, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with PostgreSQL extensions like PostGIS, TimescaleDB, or pg_partman (preferred).
• Familiarity with cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions (AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, and security best practices.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and database migration strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a collaborative environment.
