Postgre Developer

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases to support our business applications. This role involves working closely with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of our database systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including schema design and complex query creation.
• Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and configuration tuning.
• Write and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and scripts.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions into applications.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through proper backup, recovery, and access controls.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures.
• Perform migrations and upgrades of PostgreSQL databases as needed.
• Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, processes, and best practices.
• Work with stakeholders to define database requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest PostgreSQL features, tools, and best practices.

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Developer or similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of database design principles.
• Experience with database optimization and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with tools like pgAdmin, psql, or other PostgreSQL management utilities.
• Knowledge of database security and compliance best practices.
• Experience with stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e. g. , AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL).
• Experience with high-availability setups and replication strategies.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and integration.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node. js.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
