About Team :

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Payroll domain applications and a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a mainframe environment. You will work on maintaining and enhancing legacy systems while contributing to the development of new functionalities and supporting business operations in the Payroll domain.

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs in a mainframe environment to support Payroll applications.
• Work with JCL (Job Control Language) for batch job scheduling and processing.
• Maintain and optimize DB2 databases, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
• Design, code, test, and implement solutions using CICS to enable interactive transaction processing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Payroll applications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and other developers, to understand requirements and deliver timely solutions.
• Support and enhance existing Payroll systems to meet business needs and compliance requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for system errors, performance issues, or failures.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
• Provide mentoring and support to junior developers when needed.

What youll bring:

• 6+ years of experience working in Mainframe technologies, particularly in the Payroll domain.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Experience with Payroll systems and business processes (e.g., salary processing, tax calculations, benefits management).
• Knowledge of mainframe debugging tools and techniques.
• Experience in performance tuning of COBOL programs and DB2 queries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and compliance (e.g., federal and state tax requirements).
• Experience with Mainframe-related tools (e.g., Endevor, File-Aid, etc.).
• Knowledge of integrating Mainframe systems with modern technologies.
