Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Data Extraction Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in writing efficient and optimized SQL queries to retrieve structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources, including SQL-based databases and Data Lake environments. This role requires strong attention to detail, performance optimization skills, and the ability to collaborate with teams to fulfill data requirements while maintaining data integrity and security.

Role & responsibilities

• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to extract data from SQL-based databases and Data Lake environments.
• Retrieve structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources (SQL DBs, Data Lake) based on business requirements.
• Work with large datasets, ensuring accurate and timely data retrieval without modifying or analyzing data.
• Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency while fetching and handling data.
• Collaborate with teams to understand data requirements and develop appropriate queries.
• Document SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures for future reference.
• Maintain data governance, security, and compliance best practices in query execution.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction.
• Strong expertise in Azure Data Lake / Azure Synapse or similar cloud-based data platforms.
• Ability to handle large-scale datasets and retrieve data efficiently.
• Familiarity with ETL concepts is a plus (but not required).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
