Lead Tableau Developer (8-12 yrs)

Job Description :

As a Lead Tableau Developer with Enterprise Data and Analytics, you will develop and implement the strategies for the visualization tools for analytics stack, top to bottom. He/she will work closely with multiple disciplines from data engineering to data analytics and visualization across all stages of data maturity for the purpose of delivering robust Business Intelligence solutions.

This role will research and define software engineering best practices including version control, automated testing, documentation, code review and continuous integration, as essential to any data stack. You will be responsible to create data visualization solutions to improve business processes across multiple departments.

This role will include tasks such as generating Tableau dashboard reports, creating business intelligence reports and visualizations, and work with team members and stakeholders. You will design, develop, conduct unit testing, and maintains complex dashboards for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.

You will work with team members to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the team. You will ensure consistency by adhering to a set of software coding and style guides. You will resolve support tickets related to Tableau reports. As a Lead BI developer, you would be expected to help train, mentor, and coach other BI developers.

Responsibilities :

- Work with leadership on defining current state and next gen analytics solutions and strategies.

- Lead BI projects centered on Tableau dashboards and data sets.

- Research new technologies and how they can be implemented

- Design strategies for enterprise database, data warehouse systems, BI tooling, and multidimensional cubes.

- Perform code reviews and design reviews on BI dashboards created by other team members.

- Must be able to work collaboratively with business users, data engineers, and other BI professionals.

- Responsible for developing Tableau dashboards and Tableau data sets using AtScale Semantic layer.

- Develop and support data pipelines, data lake, and data warehouse solution along with finding ways to unlock value from data to support business decisions.

- Create, maintain, and leverage best practices and design standards to provide business dashboards that provide critical business insight to business users and stakeholders.

- Take existing Tableau dashboards and certify dashboard via query analysis, testing, and updating to standards and best practices.

- Provide clean data sets / products to product owners, analytics/business intelligence teams and end users.

- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements (i.e., automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.).

- Cross-functionally supports analytical requests for both internal and external stakeholders.

- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, validation, and implementation.

- Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps our business to achieve their goals.

- Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity.

Required :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

- 8 + years experience working as an analytics engineer, bi developer data scientist, data engineer, or related

- BI Development as part of an agile scrum team

- BI Development using tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker

- Advanced experience with Data Warehouse technologies such as Google BigQuery or AWS Redshift

- Advanced SQL skills using direct queries, views, or materialized views

- Unit Testing and testing strategies/methodologies

Preferred :

- Expert level SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

- Extensive Tableau Experience

- Experience with AtScale cubes or other semantic / cube based technologies

- Google BigQuery

- QSR / Restaurant experience
