Quality Engineer-(SMD/SMT- Supplier Quality)

Role & responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and create quality documentation

2. Perform in-process inspections of SMT assemblies to identify defects such as misaligned components, solder issues, missing parts, and cosmetic flaws

3. Monitor critical process parameters like solder paste volume, temperature profiles, and placement accuracy on SMT machines

4. Conduct statistical process control (SPC) analysis to identify trends and potential quality issues

5. Analyze and interpret data from automated inspection systems to identify defects and initiate corrective actions

6. Collaborate with production engineers to implement process changes and adjustments to address quality issues

7. Analyze root causes of defects and develop preventive measures to minimize their occurrence

8. Conduct analytical expertize of SMT manufacturing processes, including pick-and-place, solder paste printing, reflow soldering, and automated optical inspection (AOI)

9. Identify areas for improvement in the SMT process to optimize quality and yield

10. Evaluates production processes and performance in manufacturing Line

11. Conduct First Article readiness for new projects / Ensure project timeline management

12. Pre-Testing and Validation of software deliverables in bench vehicle on each phase of project milestones

13. Circuit verification / BOM Comparison during initial project stage

14. Conduct High Quality process defect Analysis (X-Ray / Microscsope / Scope etc)

15. ICT / FCT Defect part Analysis study (Circuit / Component Analysis)

16. Defect analysis, convergence and executing to implement the solutions

17. Creating bench setup and execution of test cases (Electrical /Bugs )

18. Ensure ESD / EOS at each production Process / Stations

Preferred candidate profile

A. Ensure that the supplier's products comply with our company's standards and regulations

B. Conduct regular on-site audits at supplier facilities to verify compliance with quality specifications and identify areas for improvement.

C. Assess potential suppliers based on quality capabilities, production processes, and compliance with company standards.

D. Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities

E. Monitor supplier manufacturing processes to identify potential quality risks and ensure adherence to established procedures.

F. Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

G. Track and report on supplier quality metrics, including defect rates, on-time delivery, and compliance to identify areas for improvement and manage supplier performance.

H. Collaborate with internal teams like engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to address quality concerns and ensure smooth supply chain operations.

I. Build strong working relationships with suppliers and foster open communication.

J. Identify opportunities to optimize supplier quality processes and implement process improvements with suppliers.

K. Identify the best suppliers by performance rating and maintenance of quality system
