The Senior Director, Agile Portfolio Management has accountability for the effective operation of the Agile portfolio delivery office, comprising a team of programme managers that assist with the delivery of a portfolio of software products across the Skyhigh Security SaaS and on-premise platforms.
The portfolio delivery office is concerned with the following activities. (1) Delivery coordination for cross-team portfolio initiatives, (2) coordination of new product introduction (NPI), (3) Economic and value-based alignment with business strategy driven by data and insights, (4) Portfolio-level reporting aligned to key business value outcomes, (5) driving standardisation and best practice across delivery teams.
This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
About the Role
The Senior Director, Agile Portfolio Management has accountability for the effective operation of the Agile portfolio delivery office, comprising a team of program managers that assist with the delivery of a portfolio of software products across the Skyhigh Security SaaS and on-premise platforms.
The portfolio delivery office is concerned with the following activities. (1) Delivery coordination for cross-team portfolio initiatives, (2) coordination of new product introduction (NPI), (3) Economic and value-based alignment with business strategy driven by data and insights, (4) Portfolio-level reporting aligned to key business value outcomes, (5) driving standardisation and best practice across delivery teams.
This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
Key Accountabilities:
Define, establish and operate the Portfolio Delivery Office, including working principles, key processes and cultural transformation. Tailor industry best practice to meet the specific needs of Skyhigh Security
Refine the role of the programme managers & develop the team to work effectively with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Product Marketing as part of the Skyhigh SDLC in a high trust / high accountability environment
Manage the allocation of programme managers in-line with demand
Ensure that key cross-functional initiatives have clear leadership and coordination and that portfolio dependencies and risks are managed
Drive a consistent approach to NPI that spans across the Product, GTM, and Delivery organizations to ensure product investments are effectively delivering value to customers
Create a consistent approach to portfolio delivery & work tracking, driving data and reporting into the toolchain (Jira etc) wherever possible
Explicit tracking of workforce allocation against business defined goals and budget guardrails
Maintain explicit linkage of strategy to execution through annual, quarterly and monthly cycles
Monthly and quarterly reporting to business executive
Coordination of annual portfolio planning in cooperation with sales operations and customer operations.
Create and maintain transparent access to portfolio delivery information
Foster operational excellence with a focus on transparent KPIs
Instill a learning culture with continuous improvement. Harvest best practices, identify bottlenecks and streamline the product portfolio process
About You
Strong Agile practitioner with experience working with large geographically distributed teams
Experience managing the delivery of enterprise software products (SaaS and on premise)
Experience managing product investments from investment decision to value realisation.
Experience leading team transformations to Agile ways of working
Experience working through strategy and investment funding cycles within a software product business
Experience in managing budgets
Familiarity with Agile scaling models LeSS/SAFe etc
Strong influencing skills
