Welding Engineer (AWS - CWE Certified)

Job Description: Weld Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring structural integrity of all structures and overseeing the designs and drawings as per all applicable national and / or international Weld Standards as per clients technical specification requirement from our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Guidance & Management: Guide the existing Design and Detailing team for Welding Design and Detailing including all notations, symbols and mark-ups on Structural Drawings.

2. Product Development and Innovation: Champion innovation initiatives to enhance structure performance, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

3. Welding Design & Development: Manage the Welding design and detailing for towers and poles with respect to applicable Weld Standards, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

4. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise on Welding tower and pole design, including weld analysis, weld materials selection, and weld fabrication methods.

a. The Engineer shall be responsible for development of weld drawings that govern structural assemblies produced under AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1 and other national & international weld standards.

b. Deep knowledge of Weld material grades, processes as per AWS D1.1, various ASTM & National and international Standards and all Non-Destructive Test Requirements.

c. Discussion with Client for Weld design calculations and weld types along with Weld acceptance criteria as per applicable standard. Extent of verification inspection, when required.

d. CVN (Charpy V-Notch) toughness criteria for weld metal, base metal, and/or RAZ when required.

e. For non-tubular applications, whether the structure is statically or cyclically loaded.

f. Understand the technical requirements with respect to Welding, during the bid stage, raise the clarifications, if any and include major points on bid stage technical offer.

g. Convince the client, consultant, third-party inspector regarding welding design and drawings with respect to their technical specification requirements and clearance for further process.

5. Project Management: Manage design & detailing projects from concept to completion with respect to Welding Calculations, Standards and applications, client comments and weld acceptance criteria ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.

6. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure effective communication and alignment.

7. Support to develop and implement quality assurance and control processes, Manufacturing Processes to ensure high-quality weld standards without any errors.

Requirements / Job Specification:

1. Education: Diploma / B. Tech in Mechanical / Civil or related discipline with Structural design specialization.

2. Experience: Minimum 5 Years experience in structural design including weld size calculations for different structures.

3. Certified Welding Engineer from AWS (American Welding Society)

4. Hands On experience with design software like, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, CATIA, etc

5. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software Proficiency

6. Materials Science and Selection, Mechanical Design Basic Principles

7. Manufacturing Processes and Design for Manufacturability

8. Skills:

a. Up-to-date with the latest industry developments and welding techniques.

b. Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, Creative thinker with a passion for innovation & problem solving skills.

c. Proficiency in Welding design & detailing in Manual Calculation and / or in software like Solidworks, AutoCAD 2D & 3D or any other relevant software.

d. Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

e.
