Quality Control Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct quality checks on construction materials, including concrete and steel, using non-destructive testing methods.
  
• Perform inspections at various stages of project execution to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  
• Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and protocols for projects.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  
• Ensure timely completion of tasks related to material testing, inspection, and reporting.

1. Develop and Implement Quality Control Plans: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction activities, identify quality control issues, and ensure compliance with quality control plans and procedures.
3. Test and Inspect Materials: Test and inspect materials, equipment, and systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
4. Identify and Resolve Quality Control Issues: Identify quality control issues, investigate root causes, and develop and implement corrective actions to resolve issues.
5. Collaborate with Project Team: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that quality control requirements are met and that construction activities are carried out in accordance with project plans and specifications.
6. Maintain Quality Control Records: Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.
7. Ensure Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental regulations.
8. Develop and Implement Quality Control Training: Develop and implement quality control training programs for project staff and contractors to ensure that they are aware of quality control requirements and procedures.
9. Monitor and Report on Quality Control Performance: Monitor and report on quality control performance, including identifying trends, analyzing data, and recommending improvements.
10. Participate in Audits and Inspections: Participate in audits and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies, clients, or other stakeholders to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 10-15 years of experience in QA/QC or similar role in the engineering & construction industry.
  
• Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. degree in Civil or relevant field from a recognized institution.
  
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software; knowledge of building codes and regulations an added advantage.
• Experience with quality control software, such as Autodesk or Procore.
• Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Certification in a relevant field, such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Certified Professional in Construction (CPC).
