Roles and Responsibilities :
Plan, co-ordinate and control the construction activities on the site; responsible for construction progress at the site
Provide construction related inputs to the Lead construction manager for preparation of the Project Plan
Responsible for preparation, build-up and the demobilization of the construction site
Participate in periodic customer reviews at site along with the Project Manager
Responsible for meeting safety regulations, quality standards and relative procedures and practices during the execution of the construction activities
Responsible for implementation of standard construction processes (Daily progress reporting, sub-contractor management, stores management, site infrastructure as per guidelines, quality) at the site
Responsible for stores management, reconciliation and emergency site purchase
Regularly communicate to Lead construction manager the performance and status of the construction activities
Quickly identify construction issues/risks identifying and implementing the required mitigation actions
Support the Project Manager in the evaluation of the project changes (evaluating their feasibility, identifying the technical solution to implement and identifying the required resources) including the ones requiring a change order
Responsible for subcontractors' management and authorize their payment within his limits of authorization
Evaluate subcontractors in defined template on quarterly basis and communicate to LCM and Head Construction.
Responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses for the site as required. Ensure project legal documents, permits, inspections etc., are completed and signed.
Manage relationships with the local statutory authorities and responsible for statutory compliance at the site
Manage crane movements & heavy lift planning at site
Responsible for maintaining all necessary protocols (handing over within package and pre-commissioning)
Support Project Manager & Lead construction manager in carrying out proper project closure of the site
Provide monthly update to Construction HOD on project status and major activities and escalate issues, if any
Identify developmental and training needs for site engineers and initiate appropriate actions
Critical Competencies for the Job:
Thorough Technical Knowledge of site activities, Erection and Site Fabrication Procedures
Knowledge of statutory requirements as per Factories Act, Construction Workers Act, legal liabilities, labour laws etc.
Knowledge of IBR & CEIG formalities.
Knowledge of welding, testing and NDT
Knowledge of safety standard
Managing Customer, Consultant & Contractor
