Job Description

Main Aspect of Job

Effectively support and educate both current and potential customers with technical expertise to better position Siemon enterprise, Data centre and intelligent buildings, products and solutions for specification for ongoing generation of business opportunities.

Develop and provide professional pre and post sales technical support and training on the design and installation of Siemon Cabling solutions and programmes as well as current and future market drivers.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent technical qualification.
  • BICSI RCDD preferred.
  • Significant experience in a technical role in the structured cabling industry.
  • Previous demonstrable experience in the Data Center in IT cabling/ infrastructure industry experience a must.
  • A minimum of Six (6) years of demonstrated success in Technical support role with a track record of increasing responsibilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of structured cabling office and data centre design principles and installation practices.
  • Good understanding of network and networking applications.
  • Good understanding of the telecommunications industry beyond structured cabling including market development and changes in active equipment.

Preferred

  • Relevant professional telecommunications qualifications such as BICSI-DCDC / EPI-CDCP, etc. or willing to commit to studying towards.

  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Superior technical writing and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and follow-up skills.
  • Capable of creating and delivering effective sales presentations.
  • Demonstrates ability to utilise PC and other tools to accomplish activities.

General Responsibilities

1. Support sales opportunities for enterprise, intelligent building and Data Center solutions through customer meetings, product demonstrations, presentations, conferences, marketing initiatives, magazine articles and presenting at trade show events.

2. Work with Marketing and Product Management to promote the complete range of products and solutions in defined territories to achieve sales growth in line with Company expectations.

3. Generating market awareness for enterprise, intelligent building and Data Center solutions through presentations, conferences and marketing initiatives.

4. Provision of technical support relating to enterprise, data centre and intelligent building opportunities in support of India sales force to CIs, Consultants, End Users, Distributors, VARs, etc.

5. Supporting external sales on preparation and submission of BOMs, proposals, tenders, RFIs, etc, coordinating assistance as required.

6. Develop and implement structured cabling designs, adhering to industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC, BICSI).

7. Ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulations, including environmental and safety standards.

8. Expertise in designing and working on Data Center environments, including on-prem, hyperscale or colocation facilities.

9. Familiarity with Data Center standards such as ANSI/BICSI, TIA/EIA and Uptime Institute guidelines.

10. Accurately and effectively delivers the quality training programmes designed to represent Siemons commitment to industry standards for the design and implementation of structured cabling to various types and sizes of audience.

11. Managing Siemon’s network of Certified Installers (CIs) as required.

12. Conducting site assessments, toolbox training and audits for major end customer installation sites. Providing post-installation report and ensuring that project meets customer’s design standards.

13. Provision of first line technical support for Inside Sales/CSR team in the region.

14. Provision of after sales support where appropriate.

15. Willingness to take on responsibility as a Product Champion for a particular product family/ies as required.

16. Willingness to take on responsibility as a Sales Mix Champion for a particular product family/ies as required, working closely with Product Management.

17. Active involvement with relevant Standards committees as required.

18. Maintenance and self-development of industry technical information and material that would be advantageous to Siemon and its customers.

19. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and reliability.

20. Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and an innovative mindset with a problem-solving approach.
