Job Description
- As part of the Siemens cloud operations organization, this position significantly chips in to delivering solutions that support outstanding cloud-based applications.
- As a Software Manager you will have key responsibilities in defining, planning, implementing, and operating automated infrastructure and processes that meet or exceed the service level objectives.
- The primary and majority function of this job is to manage a team. Manages personnel activities of staff (ie hires, trains, appraises, pay, rewards, motivates, teams, recommends termination as vital, etc). Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products with focus on surpassing client s expectations, on achieving high quality and timely delivery.
- Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Ability to understand sophisticated products, solutions, and problems. Builds, documents, and executes software designs which may involve significant re-architecture of relevant systems, defining and coordinating implementation of wide-reaching impacts.
- Acts as technical lead of projects that span multiple areas of a product. Broad and direct consulting with customers regarding future upgrades and products. Sets the technical direction for one area of a product. Promotes innovation through the ability to introduce new technology/knowledge into multiple areas of a product and to our people. Able to tackle the most complex of technical problems.
- Technical Lead in guiding junior engineers. In this role, the successful person will build and maintain environments that meet service level agreement; support the resource requirements of the development, QA, and customer value realization teams; enable CI/CD; meet security compliance and best practice standards; and are we'll detailed. They will participate in, and sometimes lead, proof of concept and first of a kind activity to validate product concepts.
- Responsible for surpassing customer expectations to achieve high quality, innovative solutions that are delivered timely. Has diversified knowledge of methods and practices in broad areas of Autobahn platform development and operations.
- Recognized by peers as a strong collaborator. Must excel in a team environment that changes with new technology adoption and evolving customer requirements.
- Works without supervision on the most sophisticated projects with complete latitude for independent judgment and technical expertise. Advanced knowledge of the field. Assist with less experienced peers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Handles personnel activities of staff (ie hires, trains, appraises, pay, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as vital, etc)
- Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products.
- We are seeking for a candidate who provide innovative solutions to problems in the area of acknowledged expertise. Use niche knowledge to provide technical solutions. Lead role in operation s projects. Implement code, code reviews, and software integration. Maintain and support current software tools and environments.
- Gather additional requirements from users and incorporate in tools when practical. Implement new functionality. Ensure that resultant deliverable is consistent with design.
- Review designs and/or implementations of other projects as required.
- Lead assigned projects including defining scope, plans, schedules, and work
- Ensure the production environment is operating in accordance with established procedures and standard methodologies. Provide advanced support for high severity and critical network events
Research - Maintain technical expertise in area of specialization by following technical advances in industry and academia.
Supervise and analyze system performance, addressing any issues or inefficiencies. Perform research to resolve possible technical solutions to long-term technical issues.
Proactively communicates status of all projects, tools, and environments. Develop new insights. Documents all processes and procedures.
Qualification and Experience:
- bachelors or Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- We are looking for candidate with 10+ years of Experience in Enterprise Software development and project management.
- 5+ experience in software development, Operation or a related field.
- Strong base for software architecture and design including inter-process communications, asynchronous processing, micro-services, message queueing, interfaces, and API development.
- Understanding of Cloud APIs and Cloud technologies specifically AWS & Azure. Strong understanding of Operation principles, practices, and tools.
- 5+ years of experience with agile development methodologies (eg, Scrum, Kanban), cloud computing platforms (eg, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization (eg, Docker) and orchestration (eg, Kubernetes). Along with similar years experience in leadership or management role.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive security attitude.
