Purpose of the Role

The Manager Breakbulk Chartering will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Breakbulk Chartering Operations, driving profitable growth, and scouting for new business and clients in the global shipping market. The role demands expertise in chartering breakbulk vessels, particularly dry bulk, Hand Size, Hand Max, and Supramax vessels, while focusing on both pre- and post-fixture activities.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Chartering Operations: Manage the chartering of dry bulk and breakbulk cargo vessels (Hand Size, Hand Max, and Supramax) on a voyage chartering module.
• Pre- and Post-Fixture Expertise: Demonstrate strong knowledge of both pre- and post-fixture activities, ensuring all contractual and operational details are accurately handled.
• Laytime & Demurrage Calculation: Ensure proficiency in calculating laytime and demurrage as part of voyage chartering operations.
• Marketing & Sales: Leverage industry connections to drive breakbulk marketing and sales, identifying new business opportunities and expanding the client base.
• Fixture Terms & Conditions: Be well-versed in the terms and conditions of the Fixture Note, Bill of Lading (BL) terms, and other chartering documentation.
• Post-Fixture Activities: Manage and oversee all post-fixture activities, including operational and logistical coordination related to chartered vessels.
• Export & Import Procedures: Ensure knowledge of export and import procedures related to breakbulk cargo, with a focus on international shipping regulations.
• Voyage Calculation: Accurately calculate voyage details, including bunker calculations, for efficient chartering operations.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Qualification: Graduate or Post-Graduate (or global equivalent).
• Experience: 8-9 years of experience in breakbulk chartering and dry bulk cargo management.
• Certification: Completion of a 2-year NMIS Shipping course (or equivalent certification).
