Job Title: Tendering Engineer Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear

Job Overview:

The Tendering Engineer for Medium Voltage Switchgear is responsible for preparing and managing tenders, bids, and proposals to secure MV switchgear projects. This role involves technical evaluation, cost estimation, risk assessment, and collaboration with sales, engineering, and procurement teams to deliver competitive, accurate, and timely proposals that meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Preparation and Submission

• Analyze tender documents, specifications, and client requirements to develop comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for MV switchgear projects.
• Ensure that proposals are in compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare clear, detailed technical descriptions, pricing schedules, and project timelines.

2. Cost Estimation and Pricing

• Perform accurate cost estimation, including materials, labor, and logistics, to ensure competitive pricing.
• Work with procurement and suppliers to obtain quotes and identify cost-effective options.

3. Technical Evaluation and Solution Design

• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop customized MV switchgear solutions that meet project specifications.
• Evaluate potential risks, identify alternate technical solutions, and propose modifications to optimize project feasibility.

4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation

• Identify technical, financial, and regulatory risks associated with each tender.
• Propose risk mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and enhance proposal quality.

5. Client Communication and Support

• Respond to client queries, provide clarifications, and attend meetings as required to understand their needs and ensure alignment with project expectations.
• Present technical solutions to clients, clarifying proposal details and building rapport.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain a record of tender documents, proposals, and pricing agreements.
• Provide regular reports on tender progress, win/loss ratios, and market insights.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in the MV switchgear industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of MV switchgear Products , including components, specifications, and applications.
• Proficiency in tendering software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Skills and Competencies:

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, ANSI, and local regulatory requirements for MV switchgear.
