Job Description : Snowflake Data Warehouse Developer

About the Job :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Snowflake Data Warehouse Developer to join our team for a 1-year+ contract.

This role is critical to our initiative of migrating our data warehouse from SQL Server to Snowflake on Azure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data warehousing, ETL processes, and experience with the specific technologies mentioned below.

This position requires working PST hours.

Healthcare experience is a plus.

Title : Snowflake Data Warehouse Developer

Duration : 1 Year+ Contract

Location : Remote (PST Hours Required)

Responsibilities :

Migration :

- Lead the migration of existing SQL Server objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, etc.) to Snowflake on Azure.

- This includes assessing the existing SQL Server environment, designing the target Snowflake schema, and performing the actual migration while ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.

Development :

- Develop and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, DBT, Python, Fivetran, and HVR.

This includes :

- Building and optimizing data ingestion processes using Fivetran and HVR.

- Developing data transformation logic using DBT and Python within the Snowflake environment.

- Creating and managing Snowflake objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, etc.

- Implementing data quality checks and validation rules.

Performance Tuning :

- Optimize Snowflake queries and data models for performance and scalability.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Data Modeling :

- Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and design efficient and scalable data models within Snowflake.

Testing :

- Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and accuracy of data and data pipelines.

Documentation :

- Create and maintain clear and concise documentation for data pipelines, data models, and other development artifacts.

Collaboration :

- Work closely with other developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Adaptability :

- Quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools as needed.

Must-Have Skills and Experience :

Snowflake :

- Extensive experience with Snowflake data warehousing, including data loading, transformation, and querying.

Azure :

- Experience with the Azure cloud platform, particularly in the context of Snowflake deployments.

SQL :

- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.

- Experience migrating from SQL Server is essential.

DBT :

- Proven experience using DBT for data transformation and modeling within Snowflake.

Python :

- Proficiency in Python programming, particularly for data manipulation and automation.

Fivetran :

- Experience with Fivetran for data ingestion and ETL processes.

HVR :

- Experience with HVR for real-time data replication and integration
