We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Civil Engineering for a Building Construction project in Tanzania. The ideal candidate should have 20+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in Africa (preferred). The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering construction projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Project Planning & Execution

• Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth execution.

🔹 Construction Management

• Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure high-quality construction and compliance with local building codes and international standards.

🔹 Budget & Cost Control

• Manage project budgets, cost estimation, and resource allocation.
• Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Approve project expenditures and track financial performance.

🔹 Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among project teams.
• Conduct regular site meetings and provide technical guidance.

🔹 Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce workplace safety measures.
• Promote a culture of safety among workers and stakeholders.

🔹 Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Address concerns and ensure timely project delivery as per contract terms.
• Provide regular project reports and updates to senior management.

Key Requirements:

✅ Education: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or a related field.
✅ Experience: Minimum 20+ years in building construction, with at least 5 years in Africa (preferred).
✅ Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles, and contract management.
✅ Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, and other construction software.
✅ Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading large construction teams and managing complex projects.
✅ Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot construction challenges and implement effective solutions.
✅ Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.Role & responsibilities
