Lead Engineer - Power Electronics

Job Description

• Manage Power converter design and development projects hardware like AC to DC, PFC, DC to DC, DC to AC from few watts to around 50KW range
• Ability to drive technically and has rich experience in all stages of project development lifecycle
• Works closely with external clients and communicate at all levels
• Hands-on experience in Providing solutions for technical proposal and responding to RFPs, delivering presentations, solution demos to the prospective clients, effort estimation in areas of industrial, Healthcare and aerospace domains
• Defines design requirements (SOW) and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements.
• Develop project plan/schedule
• Ensure teams fulfil SOW commitments across all applicable functions.
• Foresee and highlight major risks and apply contingency plans in time
• Responsible for maintaining design data (Schematic, PCB, Gerber, BOM, HDD, HAD, etc.).
• Contributes in design review viz. schematics, PCB, BOM etc. to ensure the deliverables have fulfilled acceptance criteria of customer.
• Coordinate with firmware/software team if required and ensure all SOW requirements are met and all software/firmware related documents are maintained as per QMS Support hiring, business activities, and other relevant tasks assigned

Required Skills:

• Project planning and tracking capability using Microsoft Project
• Understanding of project management concepts, methodologies, and associated tools
• Experience in Power Topologies, architecture definition, detailed design & complete product development cycle
• Knowledge of Magnetics design and construction methods meeting manufacturing processes
• Knowledge is Stress calculation, MTBF and Thermal management
• Familiarity and knowledge Power Board Bring Up and testing
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance testing including EMC/EMI, Environmental, CE, UL, etc.
• Positive & proactive attitude with excellent leadership qualities and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication (written / oral) and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to efficiently resolve team conflicts & roadblocks
• Experience in customer relationship & Stakeholder management, should be able to set & manage customer expectations.

Desirable Skills:

• Depth Knowledge in high Power converter design and Topologies
• Knowledge of PCB design methodologies for Power converters
• Knowledge of Design for excellence viz. DFT, DFM, DFA

Qualification:

Graduation/Post graduation in Electrical & Electronics / Power Electronics or equivalent

Expected Experience:

• Min. 8 years of experience in New product development
• 3 years of Project Management in Power converter development in Healthcare / Industrial/ Aerospace and Defence
