Senior Welding Engineer - Murbad

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer & Specifications: Review customer welding requirements and specifications.
• Consumable Management: Estimate, procure, inspect, and manage welding consumables, ensuring proper storage and baking.
• Equipment & Process Control: Calibrate welding machines, monitor shop floor processes, and ensure compliance with welding standards.
• Documentation: Prepare WPS, PQR, WPQ, Weld & Test Plans, and maintain qualification records.
• Audits & Compliance: Conduct ASME audits and ensure adherence to ASME and other international codes (AWS D1.1).
• Welder Management: Train and certify welders, maintain WPQ records, and ensure continuity.
• Defect Reduction: Perform daily checks to minimize welding defects.
• Procedure Qualification: Oversee qualification of welding procedures and coordinate testing with labs and TPI.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, SAW, etc.), welding automation, and heat treatment procedures.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in welding engineering.
• Expertise in ASME codes and standards; SAP and ASNT Level II certification preferred.
• Additional certifications in welding/metallurgy are advantageous.
