Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Bangalore
Business & Team:
Retail Technology is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.
You will be working as a part of Customer Identity & Digital Security Domain within Retail Technology to achieve their strategic objectives through planning, prioritising, delivering and supporting projects and initiatives. Your team s success will be realised through partnering with business and IT teams across both business domain and Technology to deliver beautiful experiences and exceptional capabilities to our branch applications.

You will contribute to the financial we'll-being of our customers by ensuring that our team builds the best solutions possible using modern development practices that ensure both functional and non-functional needs are met.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy high quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage without supervision.
- Analyse business objectives and identify functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design and implement technical solutions for functional and non-functional requirements.
- Provide accurate estimates for the development effort for new features.
- Continuously improve and improvise to find the best solutions for business
- Provide mentoring and technical assistance to other members of the team.
- Work we'll with different team members whilst practicing knowledge sharing and T-shaping
- Apply and promote industry best patterns and practices with focus on test automation.
- Take ownership of initiatives and assets and follow up to provide highest quality of customer service. Contribute to the strategic engineering goals within own team / platform.
Essential Skills:
- Experience: 8 + years of industry experience in enterprise-level engineering, preferably in in high-volume transaction processing, API-oriented platforms.
- Familiarity with API specification, design, registration and tooling (eg OpenAPI, Kong)
- Expertise in event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ) and orchestration (Apache Camel, Temporal, Mulesoft)
- Experience in distributed, low latency environments.
- Language orientation: Experience on C#, .NET Framework Core, essential. SOAP/REST APIs, Microservices and containerisation a plus. Node, Python and scripting knowledge useful
- Soft skills: Excellent communication skills. Working experience with Agile methodologies.
- Cloud: Experience on cloud migrations and deployment, with preference for AWS Cloud
- Artificial Intelligence : Experience in AI technologies, particularly around tooling enhancements will be valued.
- CI/CD: Familiarity with usage and configuration of fully automated pipelines is useful. This includes Github Actions, Artifactory and Cloudformation
- Devops: Familiarity with devops-managed environments. Specifically around observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Promethius, PagerDuty)
- Test Automation: Unit / Integration / Acceptance / Performance testing experience in API.
- Security : Defence in depth, including identity management, encryption and public cloud security obligations
- Databases: Relational databases (eg Postgres / Oracle), as we'll as data warehousing and No-SQL databases (MongoDB).
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
