JOB SUMMARY
The Scrum Master is responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide. Scrum
Masters achieve this by modeling and providing guidance to cross-functional partners (engineers, designers, etc.)
on Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values.
The Scrum Master provides effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching skills supporting the agile
process and delivery of products. In this role, you are leveraging at least a year of prior experience in the Scrum
Master role (or related role) with a team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
The Scrum Masters leverage their knowledge of the Agile development process to guide their assigned teams on
how to use Agile/Scrum practices in order to optimize velocity of execution. Individuals in this role are highly
process driven and are go-getters who can drive execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guides a team in effectively employing Scrum practices and principles to create value and increase customer and
stakeholder satisfaction.
Supports the Product Manager on refining and maintaining the Product Backlog. Promotes improved engineering
and quality assurance practices.
Facilitates Scrum events and other meetings: Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective,
Product Backlog refinement, release planning, and other meetings as necessary.
Identifies and removes impediments, prevents distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the
Sprint Goal. Ensures that cross-functional partners and assigned team(s) understand how they can push through
their own impediments.
Assesses the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaches the team to higher levels of maturity, at a
pace that is sustainable and comfortable.
Tracks metrics that are important to the team in order to deliver to the marketplace and sustainably improve.
Maintains information radiators and team tools, that includes: Sprint board, release burnup charts, progress
dashboards, etc.
Participates and engages in the Scrum Master Community of Practice (i.e. attends events to gain & exchange
information, improves and practices on skills, actively works to advance domain knowledge).
Performs other duties as assigned.
