Job Description

Position Overview:
The Senior Manager - Procurement & Contract Management is responsible for leading and overseeing the procurement and contract management functions within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the effective administration of contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, contract negotiation, and supply chain management, with the ability to drive cost efficiencies and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Procurement Management:
○ Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organizations goals and objectives.
○ Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
○ Establish and manage supplier relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.
2. Contract Negotiation and Administration:
○ Lead negotiations for contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and aligned with organizational requirements.
○ Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
○ Monitor contract performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies, and managing amendments or extensions as necessary.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
○ Manage and mentor a team of procurement and contract management professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance and development.
○ Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources.
4. Supplier Management and Performance:
○ Evaluate supplier performance regularly, ensuring they meet agreed-upon standards and service levels.
○ Address and resolve any issues related to supplier performance or delivery, implementing corrective actions as needed.

○ Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure mutual benefit and long-term collaboration.
5. Compliance and Risk Management:
○ Ensure procurement and contract management practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
○ Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement and contract management, developing contingency plans as necessary.
○ Implement and enforce best practices for procurement and contract administration to minimize risk and ensure transparency.
6. Budget and Cost Management:
○ Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with financial objectives.
○ Monitor and analyze procurement spending, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
○ Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and contract performance to senior management.
7. Continuous Improvement:
○ Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in procurement and contract management.
○ Implement process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
○ Conduct post-contract reviews to assess performance and identify lessons learned for future projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in procurement and contract management, with a demonstrated track record of success in managing complex procurement activities and contracts.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement and contract management principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:
● Full-time position based in Gurgaon HQ
● May require occasional travel for supplier meetings or project reviews.
