Senior Manager -Merchandise Planning (Auto Replenishment System)

Role & responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies for ordering and inventory management to align with business goals and market demands.
• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and terms, and ensure the reliability and quality of sourced products.
• Inventory Optimization: Monitor and analyze inventory levels, turnover rates, and stock discrepancies to maintain optimal stock levels, minimizing excess and shortage scenarios.
• Demand Forecasting: Use historical data, market analysis, and sales forecasts to predict future demand and make informed decisions about inventory purchases.
• Budget Management: Oversee the budget for inventory purchasing, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency while meeting supply needs.
• Performance Analysis: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and supplier performance; prepare comprehensive reports for upper management.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support the ordering and inventory management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, implement best practices, and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all inventory processes comply with legal and regulatory requirements, particularly relevant laws for the liquor industry, and maintain quality standards across the supply chain.
• Crisis Management: Develop and execute contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, inventory shortages, or other critical issues.
• System Management: Oversee the use and optimization of inventory management systems and software, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and analysis.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Logistics to ensure inventory strategies align with overall business objectives.
• Vendor Audits and Evaluations: Conduct regular evaluations and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
• Customer Service: Ensure that the inventory levels meet customer demand, contributing to high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
