Sopra Steria - Senior Engineer - Network Programming & Infrastructure (5-7 yrs)

About the Role : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our network infrastructure. This role requires deep hands-on experience with a variety of networking technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain 1 network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless systems.

- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, ensuring adherence to SLAs.

- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for network issues.

- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.

- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewall configurations and vulnerability assessments.

- Configure and manage routing protocols (Static, BGP).

- Implement and manage VLANs, HSRP, VRRP, STP, VTP, VSS, VLS, and VPC.

- Configure and manage Cisco, HP, Aruba, and Comware switches. Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix) to proactively identify and resolve network issues.

- Implement and manage IPsec tunnels using Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls.

- Configure and manage FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, including BGP, NAT, firmware upgrades, and packet-level inspection.

- Configure and manage L5 load balancers (LTM).

- Design and document network topologies using MS Visio.

- Implement and manage LAN infrastructure, including copper and fiber cabling, SFP modules, switch cascading, and stacking.

- Configure and manage Aruba wireless IAPs.

- Utilize Airwave to configure wireless networks and manage Aruba IAPs.

- Participate in business continuity planning (BCP).

Required Skills :

- Network Engineering Experience : Proven hands-on network engineering experience.

- OSI/TCP/IP Model : Solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models.

- Incident Management : Deep hands-on experience with incident management and troubleshooting, meeting SLAs.

- RCA : Deep understanding of root cause analysis methodologies.

- SIP : Understanding of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).

- BCP : Understanding of Business Continuity Planning.

- Network Vulnerability Assessment : Deep understanding of network vulnerability assessment processes.

- Routing Protocols : Deep understanding of routing protocols (Static, BGP).

- Switching Technologies : Deep understanding of VLAN, HSRP, VRRP, STP, VTP, VSS, VLS, VPC, 802.11, QoS, Ether-Channel.

- Switching Platforms : Hands-on experience with Cisco, HP, Aruba, and Comware switches.

- Network Monitoring : Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix).

- IPsec Tunnels : Deep understanding and hands-on experience with IPsec tunnels (Palo Alto, FortiGate).

- Firewalls : Deep understanding and hands-on experience with FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, including BGP, NAT, firmware upgrades, and packet-level inspection.

- Load Balancers : Deep understanding and hands-on experience with L5 load balancers (LTM).

- Network Diagramming : Hands-on experience with MS Visio.

- LAN Topologies : Basic understanding of LAN topologies (copper/fiber cabling, SFP modules, cascading, stacking).

- Wireless Technologies : Deep understanding of Aruba wireless IAPs and Airwave.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for network automation.

- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Network+).

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
