Staff Engineer- HOST Software

Job Summary:

The Host Software Engineer on the Module Integration team develops Host Software and supporting tools to commercialize products that meet marketing requirements, as well as supporting those products as Sierras customers deploy our products in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
• Work with the Product architects to take ownership of functional areas within the Host software.
• Collaborate with Product Management and other engineering and QA teams.
• Troubleshoot field issues related to functionality, performance, and scalability.
• Verify process activities that ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
• Should debug and solve problem individually or within a team.
• Participate in peer reviews.
• Collaborate with local and offshore co-workers.
• Work with your scrum team to continuously improve processes

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 to 9 years of experience
• Experience in: -
• Cross platform SW and Device Driver Development (Windows, Linux, Android), SW architecture
• Complete software stacks: Device Drivers, SDK, Applications
• IP communication protocols, throughput measurement and analysis tools
• Low level interface protocols: PCIe, USB, Serial
• Advance logging and debugging tools, profiling (CPU Utilization, SW, and FW stack profiling)
• Dev-Ops: SW build system and scripts, automation, integration with development workflows for all supported Operating Systems/Platforms (VMs, Jenkins, python, etc.)
  

Windows

• Kernel Mode (KM) and User Mode (UM) Device Driver Development developed in C and C++
• Good understanding of KMDF and UMDF framework
• PCIe and USB Device Driver stacks
• Application development (C++, C#, COM, WinRT, XML, JSON, etc.)
• Library development
• Tools and script development (python, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in Cellular domain
