Job Description
About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):
09 Role Overview: As a key member of the S&P Global Source to Pay team, the Sourcing Lead will manage global sourcing events (RFPs, RFIs, and direct negotiations) across S&P Globals indirect spend categories, with spend under management exceeding $600 million. This role supports Divisional Sourcing Directors in sourcing, negotiating, and implementing global suppliers, ensuring optimal value and fostering strong partnerships with key service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with Divisional Sourcing Directors to develop and execute sourcing plans aligned with business strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with strategic vendors and stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
- Work with subject matter experts (legal, finance, etc.) to facilitate procurement initiatives.
Sourcing:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Oversee structured sourcing events, ensuring compliance and integrity in the RFP process.
- Negotiate contracts to achieve significant cost savings through direct negotiations and competitive bids across various categories, including technology, marketing, and staff augmentation.
- Provide market intelligence insights to guide sourcing strategies.
- Identify cost management opportunities and coordinate cross-functional deal teams.
- Achieve cost-saving results and effectively communicate outcomes.
- Ensure that vendor selection decisions are aligned with the S&P Global Responsible Procurement missions, specifically as it relates to supplier diversity, environmental and human rights considerations.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor s Degree required; Master s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in professional procurement, with demonstrated experience in sourcing, negotiations, and delivering savings.
- Familiarity with e-Sourcing tools (e.g., Ariba) is essential.
- Interest in exploring AI applications in procurement is a plus.
