Position Description:.
As a member of the Financial Reporting Team, the Assistant Finance Manager works a global finance team member, providing technical guidance to our reporting team in the Mumbai office.
This role will also operate as a technical Financial Reporting team member and support the preparation of monthly, and quarterly reporting.
The Assistant Finance Manager will also work to review and analyze GL accounting performed by our Finance Operations team.
This technical role will be familiar with the companys filing requirements under US GAAP and will support the Mumbai Finance team to deliver on the companys requirements.
Job Responsibilities:.
Prepares monthly consolidation working papers and monthly reports to the Board of Directors and Executive Management.
Reviews assigned monthly working papers Financial Reporting Specialists and Finance Operations.
Manage intercompany accounting, including balance checks, eliminations and settlements on a quarterly basis.
Prepares / reviews audit working papers and responds to queries from external and internal auditors.
Reviews journal entries and prepares analysis related to all major financial statement captions and notes.
Reviews and manages annual and quarterly financial statements for non-public stand-alone entities.
Assists in resolving complex accounting reconciliations.
Assists with preparation and review of public company filings including consolidated financial statements.
Reviews supporting schedules for certain note disclosures.
Assists with process redevelopment and enhancement of internal controls.
Provides training to new/ junior staff as needed.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:.
Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Management, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Certified in a recognized professional accounting membership (eg.
CA).
Minimum 5-years of accounting experience in Big 4 or professional accounting firm and/or in-house experience.
Exposure to financial statement preparation and disclosures.
Experience with foreign currency transactions and intercompany transactions.
Strong knowledge of complex account reconciliations including resolution of reconciling items.
Understands and has applied internal controls and process redevelopment.
Very good working knowledge of MS Office applications specifically Excel and Word.
Strong communication skills to lead and coach less experienced staff members.
Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills.
Additional/Desired Qualifications:.
Experience with US GAAP or SEC filers.
Some experience with multiple office organization.
Familiar with financial systems software (e g NetSuite).
