Engineering Manager - AI

WHO YOU ARE:

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers on one of our Zinnia AI team. Your primary focus will be enabling your team to deliver innovative
technology-driven platforms that continue to disrupt the insurance industry. You will have plenty of opportunities to innovate and collaborate while guiding your team s technical vision, partnering with the Product Manager on customer discovery, and helping the team improve through discovery and delivery, all while opening new opportunities for your team to grow their careers. We are growing fast, but we can go further faster with experienced, collaborative, challenge-seeking engineering leaders like yourself.

WHAT YOU LL DO:

• Work as part of a global, cross-functional team to develop innovative software for Zinnia s stakeholders.
• Hire, mentor, and coach software engineers to help them reach their full potential.
• Define, develop, and advance your teams technical vision
• Partner with Product, UX, and Data and analytics teams to design and deliver iterative solutions.
• Foster a highly technical, supportive, and inclusive team environment.
• Collaborate with leadership to define and implement a technical strategy for products and systems.
• Manage shifting priorities by working closely with a variety of stakeholders.
• Guide teams in making sound architectural decisions.
• Work effectively with global teams, internal stakeholders, and customers.
• Adapt to changing business needs, proactively identifying and prioritizing key initiatives.
• Work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members and business units.
• Bring enthusiasm and flexibility to contribute across a variety of projects.

WHAT YOU LL NEED:

• 2+ years of experience of managing teams either as a tech or team lead.
• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, creating and supporting products
• A proven track record of mentoring and developing the careers of software engineers
• Experience forging collaborative partnerships with product managers and designers
• Experience in software architecture for enterprise systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to comfortably articulate your thoughts and decisions
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

WHAT YOU LL NEED:

• Typescript, Python or an equivalent typed language
• React or an equivalent UI framework
• Relational Databases
• Service Oriented Architecture/Microservice Architecture
• Knowledge and experience with OpenAI APIs.
• Experience with AWS / Azure
• Good understanding of large language models and the current state of the market players.
