Position: Head Procurement
Hiring for A renowned organization in the consumer goods sector, the company has a rich legacy of over eight decades in the industry. Known for innovation, quality, and trust, they are a market leader in our segment with a diverse product portfolio that reaches millions of households across India.
Background
The Head of Procurement will oversee procurement functions for direct and indirect materials, services, and strategic sourcing for a portfolio worth - 800- 1000 Cr. This role involves building a robust procurement roadmap, ensuring business alignment, and driving cost optimization through technology and innovative practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Management
- Direct the procurement of raw materials, commodities, finished products, CAPEX items, and services, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Manage the complete procure-to-pay cycle, including business requirement validation, competitive RFQs/Auctions, and ensuring supplier quality and timely delivery.
2. Supplier Network Development
- Identify and develop global and domestic suppliers, fostering alternate supplier bases to ensure business continuity.
- Analyze market trends and supplier networks to align procurement strategies with consumer megatrends and emerging product developments.
3. Strategic Risk Management & Negotiation
- Anticipate and mitigate risks by leveraging data analytics, preparing control strategies, and negotiating robust supply agreements.
- Proactively manage at-risk components within the supply chain to minimize disruptions.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Localization
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement efforts with business specifications and expectations.
- Lead localization projects, identifying and developing cost-effective sourcing options in alignment with market dynamics.
5. Technology-Driven Process Optimization
- Implement advanced systems, including SAP Ariba, to optimize indirect spend management and procurement processes.
- Track key functional metrics to continuously improve spend efficiency, validate business requirements, and renegotiate contracts to maximize value.
6. Quality Assurance
- Drive and maintain stringent QC/QA standards for procured materials and services, ensuring compliance with organizational quality benchmarks.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering/Science, complemented by an MSc or MBA in Procurement, Material Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years in procurement, including 5 years in a leadership role, handling procurement portfolios worth - 800- 1000 Cr.
- Proven expertise in costing, tax implications, and leading high-value negotiations.
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation abilities, and stakeholder management expertise.
- Experience in implementing technology-driven procurement solutions to enhance efficiency.
