Finance Manager- Accounts Payable (Logistics)

Job Overview:

The Finance Manager - Accounts Payable is responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintenance of vendor records, and compliance with financial policies and procedures. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to streamline and improve processes.

Key Responsibilities:-

Management of Accounts Payable Process:

• Oversee the entire accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
• Manage the processing of vendor invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and payment requests.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounts payable specialists.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable function.
• Develop and maintain accounts payable procedures and policies.
• Utilize technology and automation to streamline workflows.

Vendor Relations:

• Maintain and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Resolve vendor disputes and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Negotiate payment terms and conditions to optimize cash flow.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports, payment forecasts, and accruals.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to accounts payable.
• Implement corrective actions for audit findings and recommendations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to accounts payable.
• Monitor actual expenditures against budgeted amounts and report variances.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other finance teams, procurement, and operations to ensure alignment and smooth processing of transactions.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects to improve overall financial processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA
• Proven experience in accounts payable management, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, financial regulations, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Cargowise, QuickBooks).
