Head - Supply Chain - Pharmaceutical/Healthcare Sector (15-20 yrs)

Candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of international logistics, trade regulations, and export procedures, particularly for pharmaceutical products. Export expertise ensures efficient and compliant delivery of products to global markets.

Additional Responsibilities Related to Export:

Export Operations Management:

- Oversee the end-to-end export process, including documentation, customs clearance, and international shipping.

- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of pharmaceutical products to international customers.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with international regulatory standards such as FDA, EMA, TGA, WHO-GDP, and other region-specific requirements.

- Maintain accurate export documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (CoA), Certificates of Origin, and Product Registration Certificates.

Global Distribution Network:

- Develop and manage relationships with international distributors, logistics providers, and customs brokers to streamline export operations.

- Establish a robust distribution network to reach global markets efficiently.

Export Licensing and Permits:

- Ensure that all required licenses, such as Exporter of Record (EOR) or regulatory approvals, are secured for each destination country.

- Monitor updates in trade agreements and export/import laws affecting the pharmaceutical sector.

Risk Management:

- Mitigate risks related to international shipping, such as delays, damage, or loss of goods, by implementing robust tracking and insurance systems.

- Manage foreign exchange fluctuations and their impact on export pricing and profitability.

Market Expansion:

- Identify and explore new export opportunities, aligning supply chain capabilities with the company's international growth strategies.

- Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to meet international customer demands.

Required Experience for Export Role:

Technical Expertise:

- In-depth knowledge of international shipping terms (e.g., Incoterms), export documentation, and customs procedures.

- Familiarity with global cold chain logistics for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products.

Regulatory Knowledge:

- Expertise in international pharmaceutical regulations and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) for exporting medicines.

Soft Skills:

- Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts with international clients, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.

- Effective communication to coordinate with stakeholders across different countries and cultures.

Desired Qualifications:

Educational Background:

- A degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field, with certifications in Export-Import (EXIM) operations.

Experience:

- Significant experience in managing exports within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector, with a proven track record of entering and sustaining international markets.
