Legal Counsel (Mumbai)

Role & responsibilities

• participation in the drafting, negotiation, and legal support of commercial agreements, investment and financial transactions
• providing legal advice and support for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financial transactions, and investments
• advising on compliance with corporate and commercial laws, banking and financial regulation
• preparation of legal opinions and reports concerning investment projects, lending, financing, and debt restructuring
• negotiation and legal support for asset acquisition and disposal, litigation, and arbitration disputes
• development of internal legal documentation, instructions, and policies aimed at ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies
• monitoring legislative changes and advising on their application in practice
• analysis of legal aspects of corporate reorganizations, liquidations, and bankruptcies.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5-10 years experience in corporate law and commercial transactions
• banking experience is must
• familiarity with corporate and commercial laws, banking and financial norms, bankruptcy, and foreign exchange control regulations
• expertise in negotiations and legal support for M&A, financial transactions, and investments
• deep knowledge of corporate and commercial laws, banking and financial regulations
• ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding work environment, where your contributions will be highly valued
