Process Engineer (Shift in charge)

About the role:

The Process Engineer will play a critical role in the design, operation, and optimization of processes involving DC ARC reactors & Exothermic reactors. This role focuses on ensuring efficient and high-quality production, with responsibilities encompassing process control, troubleshooting, and collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Design and Optimization:

• Lead and manage the production team during the assigned shift to ensure smooth operations of the Exothermic process.
• Monitor and control key process parameters to ensure consistent quality and production targets.
• Manage raw material inputs and coordinate material handling during the shift.

2. Production Operations:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of Exothermic process and miscellaneous processes
• Monitor key metrics such as energy consumption, temperature control, and material utilization.
• Collaborate with production teams to address bottlenecks and improve workflow.

3. Team Supervision:

• Allocate tasks to operators and technicians, ensuring efficient utilization of manpower.
• Provide guidance and support to the team in troubleshooting process or equipment issues.
• Conduct on-the-job training for operators to enhance their technical skills and safety awareness.

4. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Conduct regular inspections and ensure proper functioning of DC arc reactor systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the reactor and auxiliary systems.
• Recommend and implement upgrades to enhance equipment reliability and safety.

5. Quality Assurance:

• Ensure products meet defined specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate with quality control teams to perform analyses of materials and products.
• Investigate non-conformance incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.

6. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:

• Promote a culture of safety by ensuring all processes comply with HSE standards and protocols.
• Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate operational hazards.
• Ensure proper disposal and management of by-products and waste.

7. Production Documentation:

• Maintain accurate shift records, including production data, equipment performance, and incidents.
• Prepare and submit end-of-shift reports detailing achievements, issues, and recommendations.
• Ensure proper documentation of raw material usage and inventory during the shift.

8. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and suggest opportunities for improving process efficiency and productivity.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production challenges and share insights for process optimization.

9. Coordination and Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the management and other shifts during operations.
• Ensure smooth handover of duties and critical information to the next shift.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production planning and quality assurance, to meet targets.
