Senior Accounts Associate

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
• Manage and maintain payroll systems (SAP) to process salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions with precision and efficiency.
• Collaborate with payroll vendors to finalize paysheets and generate necessary reports.
• Post monthly payroll provisions and allocate payroll expenses across projects and cost center in SAP (SBO) for respective entities.
• Ensure timely closure of books in alignment with the monthly/quarterly closing schedule.
• Address employee payroll inquiries within the agreed turnaround time (TAT).
• Oversee the timely filing of labour compliance, including TDS, PT, PF, and LWF.
• Prepare and present monthly/quarterly SOX reports and MIS reports with detailed analysis for management and Finance Director review.
• Assist with audit processes by preparing financial statement schedules and collaborating with internal and external auditors.
• Review, account for, and process invoices, ensuring timely payment schedules and vendor payment releases.
• Resolve payroll-related issues promptly through effective communication with vendors and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with vendor regulations such as MSME and TDS filings within deadlines.
• Accurately account for payroll costs monthly and generate quality management reports.
• Handle payroll-related tax activities, including monthly TDS, advance tax estimates, and 3CD information.
• Ensure timely deposits of PF, ESI, and other statutory dues.

What You Bring:

• Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, journal entries, and account reconciliations with experience researching variances and implementing corrective actions.
• Deep expertise in Indian payroll processes and statutory compliance, including TDS, PF, PT, and labour-related laws.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information discreetly and maintain a high level of integrity.
• Skilled in adapting to fast-paced environments with changing priorities while maintaining strategic focus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across HR, senior management, and employees.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while showing initiative in understanding complex processes.
• Experience in process improvement projects, including ERP enhancements, and maintaining SOX compliance in payroll processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A bachelors degree in accounting or finance with 5+ years of experience managing Indian payroll, ideally within an MNC environment.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a Payroll Accountant or in a related role; exposure to accounts payable or similar functions is a plus.
• Proven expertise in managing the entire payroll process, including time and attendance tracking, tax calculations, and final disbursements.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP is highly desirable.
• In-depth understanding of payroll operations, including Payroll Tax, Payroll Accounting, and related end-to-end processes.
• Proficient in advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of tools like Power BI and Power Query will be an added advantage.
