Senior Software Engineer

In this role, you will:

• Work with product managers, staff engineers, and internal/external customers to architect, build, test, and deliver full stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the performance, reliability, and user experience of our applications.
• Propose technical solutions and spearhead technical solutioning on some of the team s initiatives.
• Help mentor, develop, and support other engineers on the team.
• Maintain a regular feedback loop to allow for implementation iterations and making adjustments.
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of relevant industry experience in software development
• Strong programming/coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, Kotlin or similar frameworks.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.

An ideal candidate also has:

• Expertise working with web services at massive scale deployed on hyperscalers such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Is an expert in writing high-quality, performant, and maintainable code in a modern programming language.
• Expertise working on large-scale enterprise software applications
