Role And Responsibilities :
- Set objectives and strategies for the IT department
- Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits
- Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve student and stakeholder experience
- Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within company.
- Define and develop corporate objectives into effective action programmes, manage and develop IT system across all campuses to provide the best high quality, network, systems and storage infrastructure for its staff and students.
- Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
- Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance
- Direct and organize IT-related projects
- Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage
- Analyse the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions
- Ensure that all staff and students receive a high quality and responsive service
- To establish, and develop an outstanding BI/MI system that will support the needs of, providing relevant stakeholders with information in real time via interactive dashboards and facilitating the production of regular reports across the organisation.
- Lead on the implementation and maintenance of all significant SAAS applications, ensuring all projects are delivered in a timely fashion and are appropriately developed and maintained
- Building processes for data protection and quality assurance
- Negotiating contracts with vendors and service providers for installing new technology and training employees on its use
- Planning and strategizing to control costs and improve productivity and ensure return on investment (ROI) on any expenditure
- Suggesting hardware and software upgrades as appropriate to improve operations, consistency, and budgetary success.
- Coaching members of the IT teams, particularly IT leaders, so everyone stays on the same page across the company
- Ensuring the companys technological processes and service comply with all requirements, laws, and regulations
- Reviewing vendor proposals and making decisions based on price, what they offer, and how the vendor product may fit into the organisation
- Sharing technological visions, opportunities, and risks throughout the organisation
- Representing the company at conferences and networking events
- Ensures security of all information and computer systems and digital data.
- Ensures adherence to government regulations and guidelines for technological systems and safeguarding of data.
- Analyses system usage and processes to determine how to optimize return on investment, improve information technology systems, and foster business growth.
- Ensure that high quality learning environments are available at all campuses.
- Ensure that learning infrastructure is fit for purpose, making full use of advances in learning technologies to provide an outstanding service for staff and students that enhances student learning.
- Lead IT disaster recovery programme to ensure business continuity and implement systems to ensure minimal disruption.
- Develop an inventory system for both hardware and software including licences, warranties and maintenance schedules.
Essential Skills and Experience :
- Strong background in ERP implementation
- Proven experience as IT Head or similar leadership role
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
- Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
- Strong understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- A strong strategic and business mindset
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Masters in computer science and Technology or other relevant qualifications.
- Have demonstrable experience of developing and enhancing BI/MI systems
