About the Role
Were seeking a motivated Junior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career to work with experienced developers while building scalable backend services. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend APIs and services
- Write clean, testable code following team standards
- Assist in database management and optimization
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions
- Support testing and debugging efforts
- Learn and implement backend best practices
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of backend development experience
- Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
- Basic understanding of API development
- Knowledge of one or more backend programming languages
- Familiarity with database concepts
- Strong willingness to learn and accept feedback
- Good problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of version control (Git)
Technical Skills
- Backend languages: Node.js/Python/Java
- Basic API concepts (REST)
- SQL fundamentals
- Basic testing practices
- Version control with Git
- Basic understanding of web protocols
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker)
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Open source contributions
- Interest in system design concepts
