Position Summary:
The Head - Accounts will oversee and manage the accounts function for BDR Pharmaceuticals and its group companies, including the Head Office, manufacturing plants, and subsidiaries. This position entails end-to-end accountability for all accounts and finance activities. The ideal candidate will lead a large team, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, ensure timely completion of audit (statutory/internal), ensure group companies are able to tap available government subsidies for manufacturing setup & capable of driving process improvements across the group companies
Key Responsibilities :
Accounts Management :
- Lead and manage the accounts function for the entire group, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all entities, including Head Office, plants, and subsidiaries.
- Supervise and ensure timely preparation of financial statements, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee group-level consolidation of accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards (IND AS/IFRS).
- Ensure timely completion of statutory audits (Big 4), tax audits, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure capitalization of available government subsidies for manufacturing setups.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including income tax, GST, and other applicable laws.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities for smooth execution of audits and inspections.
- Implement robust internal controls to safeguard the financial health of the organization.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team across multiple locations, ensuring seamless coordination among Head Office, plants, and subsidiaries.
- Mentor and guide team members to enhance their technical and leadership capabilities.
- Drive a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the accounts team.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the accounts function.
- Drive the implementation of SAP systems and ensure effective utilization across all group entities.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the performance of the accounts function.
Strategic Support:
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making by the Group CFO and senior leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align accounts activities with organizational objectives.
- Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (ICWAI) is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience in accounts and finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large teams in a multi-entity, multi-location setup.
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards (IND AS) and regulatory requirements.
Skills:
- Expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in SAP systems and advanced Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach.
