Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in remote sensing and satellite data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, data analytics, and environmental science, and will play a key role in developing and implementing data-driven solutions for our remote sensing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms for satellite data analysis
- Process and analyze large-scale remote sensing data to extract meaningful insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute data-driven projects
- Develop and maintain data processing pipelines for satellite imagery and other remote-sensing data
- Conduct research and stay updated with the latest advancements in remote sensing and data science
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through detailed reports and presentations
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the growth of the data science team
Ideal Profile
- You possess a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- You have strong proficiency in Python and experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
- You have extensive experience with machine learning frameworks and data processing technologies
- You have experience with satellite image processing and geospatial data analysis
- You have knowledge of carbon accounting principles and environmental reporting standards
- You have experience in tech-leading cross-team engineering efforts
- You have strong software engineering practices, including debugging/profiling, version control, and system design
- You have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Experience with or understanding of satellite-based remote sensing and agriculture is a plus
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and experience with database systems (RDBMS/NoSQL) is a plus
- Familiarity with monitoring systems, logging, operations, and SLO/SLA concepts is a plus
- Experience working in AgriTech or environmental sustainability sectors is a plus
